The Department of Health laid a remedial order in Parliament for scrutiny in November 2017. This order addresses an incompatibility in Section 54 of The Human Fertilisation & Embryology Act 2008, which is concerned with applications for parental orders, which transfers legal parenthood after a surrogacy arrangement.
